Everyone is welcome to attend the听Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration, 鈥淩emembering His Life, Renewing His Legacy,鈥澨齩n Monday, Jan. 20. A reception and conversations about Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy will be held听3鈥4 p.m., followed by a community celebration from听4 to 5 p.m. The event will be held in the University Memorial Center Glenn Miller Ballroom. No-charge parking is available on听campus on Jan. 20.
The听free event is open to all ages and is sponsored by 精品SM在线影片鈥檚 Office of Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement (ODECE);听;听the 补苍诲听.

Alphonse Keasley,听associate vice chancellor at ODECE, said King's life and legacy will be celebrated at the event, and he really hopes to engage with the younger generations.
鈥淚 don't know that young people are听aware of Dr. King鈥檚听significance. His life and message to the country and world听continue to reverberate in the hearts and minds of people. His legacy听of looking at the morality of our society and the de-humanization of a people听still has relevance today, and that is the message we want to share and learn about,鈥澨齂easley said.

The event鈥檚 featured speaker is听Boulder City Council Rep. Junie Joseph.听
Joseph is an engaged human and civil rights professional who has worked in South Africa to support various non-government agencies with their transitional justice issues. Before coming to Boulder to study law, Joseph was a human rights officer serving internally displaced persons. Ready to address complicated matters such as affordable housing and transportation, Joseph focuses her efforts on socio-economic diversity and political inclusion.
She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in political science and is a 精品SM在线影片 JD candidate.
