Election Day is here! Colorado residents still can register and vote in person. Get tips on voter registration, voting centers, 24-hour drop boxes on campus and more.

Students wanting to vote in Boulder County

The UMC and Williams Village (in the Village Center, 500 30th St.) vote centers are open now for in-person voter registration (register and vote on the same day), voting, ballot replacement and ballot-to-go. Stop by anytime for these services or to ask questions!

5 things to know

  • If you have a Colorado driver鈥檚 license or ID card, to save time, you can several hours before visiting a vote center.
  • If you do not have an in-state ID, you can register on the spot using your Buff OneCard or another valid form of ID (out-of-state licenses cannot be accepted, but valid passports, local utility bill and other options exist).
  • Ballot-to-go can be used for first-time ballot requests until 6 p.m. on Election Day (must allow two to three听business hours after or making registration changes before requesting a ballot-to-go)听or for any registered voter who needs a replacement mail ballot (may call immediately if no changes to your registration). Call 720-440-7886 to order your ballot for will-call pickup or for more information.
  • You must have your complete mailing address to register.
    • All students can go to their Buff Portal. Under the top-right profile icon, click on Account Settings then Profile and Privacy. A new window will open (you may need to sign in again), and you can click on Addresses to find your campus or local address.
    • For on-campus students, you must have residence hall mailing address and your mailbox number. An alternative source for that information is in your housing assignment confirmation email, which may still be your MyCULiving portal.
  • Colorado does not have a registration deadline. You can register and vote on Election Day.听

Are you an in-state student but not voting as a Boulder resident?

If you have your home county ballot, return it today to a local Boulder County dropbox. They will make sure it gets to your home county clerk. Due by 7 p.m. Election Day.

2 things to know

  • If you are an in-state student who wants to remain registered at your home Colorado county but did not request a mail ballot to be sent to your Boulder address, you will need to travel to that county to vote the full ballot.
  • Or you may vote a statewide ballot at the UMC or Williams Village Vote Center. The statewide听ballot will only include presidential and statewide races鈥擝oulder County Elections cannot print a ballot that contains local races for other counties.

Returning your mail ballot (any Colorado mail ballot)

Colorado voters can use any official Clerk & Recorder / Elections Division dropbox in the state to return their mail ballot. This includes the 24-hour ballot boxes on-campus鈥攐ne is located outside the UMC (closest to Euclid Avenue) and the other is听by the bus lane in Williams Village.

  • It is too late to mail your ballot. Please use a dropbox.
  • All mail ballots must be returned to a dropbox or vote center by ballot by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
  • Never got your mail ballot? You can vote in person.

Out-of-state students

You have the option of voting in Boulder County or your home state ().

  • To vote in Boulder County, you can register and vote in person at the vote center in the UMC using your Buff OneCard. 听
  • If you have an out-of-state ballot, please make sure to return your ballot in time to your home state. Contact your home county elections office for deadlines and options.
