On June 7, the university announced its search for a senior associate vice chancellor/chief human resources officer (CHRO) to succeed Katherine Erwin, who announced she will be retiring June 30.

The CHRO position calls for an experienced human resources executive who supports an optimal environment for recruiting, developing and retaining faculty and staff, providing organizational and workforce strategy for the campus. The position also calls for someone who demonstrates experience promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.

鈥淥ur ideal candidate will be able to lead an HR organization that is a trusted partner across the campus,鈥 said Patrick O鈥橰ourke, chief operating officer (COO). 鈥淲e must continue to support our employees as we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic and imagine the future of work on our campus, address our need to become a more diverse and inclusive employer, and implement best-in-class practices to attract and retain a strong and talented workforce.鈥

The CHRO position reports directly to the COO and supports the COO in collaborative decision-making to advance campus objectives.
