We are grateful for those of you who were able to attend our virtual town hall on Tuesday, Aug. 9. For those who were unable to attend, we鈥檙e writing to provide a recap of some key updates, along with links to helpful resources as the fall semester nears.
These updates included:
- An overview of campus strategic priorities for the coming year, including diversity, equity and inclusion; creating a student-centered campus community; sustaining, supporting and inspiring our community; and campus success. Key initiatives aimed at supporting these priorities include, among others, Buff Undergraduate Success, establishing a Common Curriculum and embarking on a more holistic approach to health and wellness for the campus community.
- Academic Affairs has posted updated academic instruction guidance.
- 精品SM在线影片鈥檚 COVID-19 vaccine requirement remains in effect, and can be completed either via proof of vaccination/boosters or by filing for an exemption. Details regarding requirements and process can be found on our COVID-19 vaccine requirements webpage. Masks remain optional on our campus.
- Our campus public health office is monitoring the monkeypox outbreak in the United States, and will partner closely with local and state public health agencies to ensure we鈥檙e taking steps necessary as a campus to protect our community.
- Work modality standards for faculty and staff were updated over the summer, and we encourage you, if you haven鈥檛 already, to discuss these with your supervisor in relation to what it means for your role.
- Encouraged faculty and staff to volunteer for Move-in and Fall Welcome as a way to help create an inclusive and welcoming culture on our campus.
- Encouraged participation in the Buffs One Read program, with this year鈥檚 selected book: Braiding Sweetgrass; Indigenous Wisdom Scientific Knowledge and the Wisdom of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmer.
- Encouraged attendance at the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit this December.
Campus will also be sharing a recording of the town hall via 精品SM在线影片 Today in the coming days for those who were unable to attend on Tuesday. We enjoyed Tuesday鈥檚 discussion, and we鈥檙e excited for the new academic year to begin.
We continue to be inspired by the innovativeness and resilience shown by our campus community during the past two years. We have emerged as a stronger university, and we look forward to reconnecting on campus in the days and weeks to come.
