Mental Health Wellness Resources at CU

  • Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS):CAPS provides mental health support for all students, including mental health screenings, brief individual therapy, group therapy, workshops, E-Let’s Talk, consultations and crisis support.

To schedule an initial individual appointment at CAPS, visit . ÌýSame-day appointments are available for crisis situations.Ìý Students needing to talk with a clinician immediately should contact CAPS at 303-492-2277. ÌýStudents can also schedule an informal consultation with a CAPS clinician.Ìý Additionally, out-of-state students can access Let's Talk or any of CAPS' workshops.

  • SilverCloud:SilverCloud is a free online portal for students, graduate students, staff and faculty.Ìý It is a self-paced tool that allows users to explore three emotional health topics: anxiety, depression and stress. Each module offers information, tips and techniques for improved emotional well-being.

  • Office of Victim Assistance (OVA):OVA (303-492-8855) provides free and confidential information, consultation, support, advocacy and short-term counseling services for students, graduate students, faculty and staff who have experienced a traumatic, disturbing or life-disruptive event.

Education and Support

  • Kognito: If you’re not sure how to bring up the conversation with a friend, classmate or family member, Kognito can help. Kognito is an online resource that can help you practice having challenging conversations with someone in distress. Through this online portal you will learn how to identify the warning signs of psychological distress and how to talk with a student about their issues. It also provides tools to help you build connections and assist someone in seeking help.

  • BeThe1To: °ä±«-µþ´Ç³Ü±ô»å±ð°ù’s BeThe1To suicide prevention campaign provides additional information on how to talk about suicide and connect someone with the support resources they need.

  • Mental Health First Aid: CU-Boulder offers free Mental Health First Aid training to students, staff and faculty. Sign up for this training to learn about risk factors and warning signs, engage in experiential activities and learn about evidence-supported treatment and self-help strategies.
