This year, Shannon Mullane (MJour) joined The Colorado Sun as a staff reporter covering water issues and tribal affairs in the West. Previously, she worked as senior editor of the CMCI communications team and as a staff writer for The Durango Herald, where she received 15 awards for her reporting. She’s still based in Durango and loves exploring southwest Colorado. In the fall, Mullane won a first-place award from the Colorado Press Association in the Best Social Justice or Equity Reporting category.
