Dinfin K. Mulupi is an assistant professor in the Department of Journalism at the 精品SM在线影片.

Dinfin鈥檚 research interests focus on the intersection of gender, class and race in the news industry. In particular, Dinfin examines representation of marginalized communities in the press, news coverage of sexual violence, the status of women journalists in the news industry, and use of social networking platforms and alternative press for feminist activism. Dinfin鈥檚 research draws on feminist knowledge (intersectionality, standpoint epistemology, ethics of care, etc.) to theorize pathways to better journalistic practices.

Dinfin鈥檚 peer-reviewed journal articles have been published in Journalism Practice, Feminist Media Studies, Women鈥檚 Studies in Communication, African Journalism Studies and The Communication Review. She has also contributed chapters to The Routledge Companion to News and Journalism, and Reporting on Rape Culture in Sub-Saharan Africa During the #MeToo Era. Originally from Kenya, Dinfin previously worked as a business journalist in Nairobi covering the East African region.

Dinfin earned a Ph.D. from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, College Park. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of Nairobi (Kenya), and an Erasmus Mundus MA in Journalism, Media, and Globalization from Aarhus University (Denmark) and City, University of London (UK).
