Zoom Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11am听Mountain Time听-
The English Department will be holding virtual department commencement ceremonies听on Friday, May 7, 2021听at 10am Mountain Time听for all undergraduate and graduate students who are graduating in Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Summer 2021. Additionally, we will have a live Zoom ceremony听for graduate students on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11am Mountain Time.听
The 10am听virtual commencement ceremonies听will be pre-recorded, not livestreamed, and the recording will remain online indefinitely. Each individual graduate will have their name read aloud, just as it would have been read at our in-person ceremony. Additionally, each student will be able to create a 鈥渟lide card鈥 with their name, major, and degree, as well as a personal message and photo that will appear while their name is read during the pre-recorded ceremony. We are using a platform called听MarchingOrder听for the virtual ceremony.听Students will be receiving an e-mail directly from MarchingOrder with instructions on how to submit their personalized slide cards for the ceremony soon.
The 11am Zoom commencement ceremony for graduate students will be live and family and friends are encouraged to attend.听听
We understand that these听virtual and Zoom commencements are听not the same as an in-person ceremony, but we want to recognize the achievements of our graduates in a safe yet meaningful way.
