Fiske has proudly served K-12 and other community groups for nearly 50 years.

Learn with us in our immersive planetarium theater with films and live flights around the universe, guided by our trained undergraduate staff. Get hands-on with our interactive labs and activities related to astronomy and Earth science.Ìý

We have recently updated our program offerings to bring you Core Astronomy Programs, which provide the fundamentals of astronomy in alignment with NGSS standards. Our Core Astronomy Programs also offer the option to supplement your visit with Themed Activity Add-Ons, specifically designed to complement your selected program. Check out our Discovery Labs for interactive, demo-focused experiences focused on other important topics in Earth and Space Science.

Core Astronomy Programs

We offer 6 core programs. Each are 1 hour in length, including a 30 minute film +Ìýa 30 minute live presentation.

We also offer Themed Activity Add-Ons. These areÌý30 minute optional activities related to the core theme ofÌýastronomy programsÌýand each activity can serve 25 students at a time.ÌýNote: your total visit price increases with each Themed Activity Add-On.

Standalone Experience Labs

We offer 3Ìýstandalone experience labs. Each areÌý1 hour live presentations.ÌýThese experience labs can be booked independently or booked with any of our other programs.Ìý

Lights & Lasers | K - 12th grades

Different types of light exists all around us and allows us to learn about our universe. What is light? What and how can we learn from it? Students will experience colors, the fingerprints of light, and lasers in our planetarium theater through a variety of interactive demonstrations.

Lab can accommodate up to 200 students.

Global Soundscapes | K - 12th grades

Immerse yourself in the amazing sounds of our planet! Through giant screen images, surround sound, and live presentation, Global Soundscapes takes you on an ear-opening journey into the science of sound and the emerging field of soundscape ecology.

Embark on a mission to investigate the dramatic soundscapes of Costa Rica’s rainforests, Hawaii’s coral reefs, and Mongolia’s vast grasslands.

Lab can accommodate up to 200 students.

Rockets Lab | K - 12th grades

3…2…1…blastoff! What different elements does a rocket need in order to fly? Explore how rockets are made, how they work, why they all look the same, and the differences between being up in space vs here on Earth. Design and engineer your own paper rocket before we head outside (weather permitting) to launch a model rocket!

Lab can accommodate up to 25Ìýstudents.

$8/student/hour (includes free admission for 10 teachers/bus drivers/chaperones, additional adults $8/person/hour)

Reduced Lunch and Title 1 schoolsÌý

  • 50% off entire visit (Must provide letter from Principal confirming this designation.)
  • No additional discount for multiple visits in the same school year
