What is German Studies?

In German Studies, we focus on all areas of German speaking cultures and their crucial roles in the formation of the modern world.ÌýOur faculty have interdisciplinary interests, teaching and researching in fields that includeÌýlanguageÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýliterature, but also cross over into:

Art History|Comparative Literature|Critical Race/Ethnic Studies|Film Studies|History|Jewish Studies|Philosophy|Political Science|Gender Studies

A degree in German studies will also equip you with discipline specific knowledge: German language skills as well as historical and contemporary perspectives on cultures in German speaking countries.
