UNM Distinguished Professor Joan Bybee gives Capstone CU Linguistics lecture April 19

Prof. Bybee is best known for proposing the theory ofÌýÌýand for her contributions toÌýÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýÌýlinguistics. Dr. Bybee was nominated by CU Linguistics graduate students.ÌýÌýHer talk will take placeÌý4-5:30pmÌýWednesday,ÌýApril 19thÌýinÌýCASE E422. The talk will be offered in hybrid format, withÌýboth a Zoom audience and in-person audience.ÌýThe title of her talk, based on joint work with Prof. (Oklahoma State), is "Hyperbole and bleaching in semantic change: the case ofÌýgrab".Ìý
