ÌýMeeting Room Reservations
During our two-year stay in LBB, the Department of Linguistics has very limited access to meeting space.ÌýTo the extent possible, we will reserve classroom space for critical needs like thesis defenses. If you need a meeting room for a regularly scheduled or one-off meeting (with an academic purpose), please make a reservation on EMS where you can reserve a room for an academic purpose. If you need access to EMS, please reach out toÌýEducation Program AssistantÌýEthan McGinnis. Linguistics controls or has access to several lab/seminar rooms within LBB that we can schedule in cooperation with theÌý, our affiliated center in LBB.ÌýÌýWe currently have five rooms that you can now reserve for a meeting, office hours, study session etc. in the EMS calendar system.Ìý This is CU’s calendar system that we now are able to use specifically for our five LING rooms that are available.Ìý We have four rooms that can be scheduled by you directly inÌý.Ìý They are LBB 122A, LBB 150, LBB 353, LBB 434.ÌýÌý
What this means to you:
- You will be able to go into the web calendar and reserve a space.ÌýWe suggest you reserve in advance, as same-day reservations may be possible but are not guaranteed.Ìý
- Ethan, Kris, and I all have keys that can be given to you at the time you are using the space.Ìý These keys will need to be picked up right before using the space and returned to one of us after you are done using the space.Ìý If you picked up the key from me, Kris, or Ethan and can’t find us when your meeting is over, either slip it under my or Ethan’s door.
- If for some reason – Ethan, Kris or I are not available to open the room at your reserved time, you may ask Rebecca or Laura to let you into the space you reserved.ÌýÌý Alexis and Martha have master keys and if they are available, they can let you into the room.
- Please respect the beginning and end time of your reservation so that others are not kept waiting. Also, please be aware that many of these rooms connect to other rooms and sound travels easily.
- If you create garbage while using the room, please empty it in the large hallway trash bins on each floor. Please leave the room clean.Ìý The janitorial staff does not go into the offices to clean up.ÌýÌýIt is easy to reserve a spaceÌýÌýjust walk through the steps below.ÌýÌýLet me know if you have questions.
