Noted American Archaeologist To Speak At CU-Boulder Oct. 27

David Hurst Thomas, curator of anthropology at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and one the nationÂ’s best-known archaeologists, will speak at the University of Colorado at Boulder Oct. 27 on his controversial book, "Skull Wars." Sponsored by the CU-Boulder anthropology department and funded by a department alumnus, the Sixth Annual Distinguished Archaeology Lecture will be held at 8 p.m. in room 270 of the Hale Science Building. The free public event, which coincides with CU Parents Weekend, will be followed by a reception.

University Hill Community Cleanup And Social Set For Oct. 22

The University of Colorado Student Union, in conjunction with the University Hill Neighborhood Association, will sponsor a neighborhood cleanup and social on Sunday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The meeting area for participants will be the University Hill parking lot located at 13th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. "This is a time to get to know one another and break down barriers to form a stronger, safer community for everyone," said Amanda Breeden, UCSU Community Relations director.

United States And Russia Release Arctic Climate Data

Urban/Rural Divorce Trial To Be Played Out In Fort Collins

The program will be held from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Stuart St., and is sponsored by Common Ground - The Urban/Rural Connection, an organization that promotes sustainable communities. The event is free and open to the public.

Eatons Donate $5 Million For CU-Boulder's Arts And Sciences Building

The CU Board of Regents announced today that Woody and Leslie Eaton have donated $5 million toward the support of CU-BoulderÂ’s new Humanities Building at the College of Arts and Sciences. CU-Boulder Signs Exchange Agreement With Tuskegee University

CU-Boulder Chancellor Richard Byyny and Tuskegee University President Benjamin Payton will sign an agreement on Monday, Oct. 16, that will join the two campuses in an exchange of students, faculty, curriculum and technology. The agreement will be signed at the Kellogg Conference Center on the campus of Tuskegee University.

CU-Boulder Staff Members To Respond To Mock Emergency As Part Of Oct. 21 Exercise

An emergency training exercise at the University of Colorado at Boulder the morning of Saturday, Oct. 21, may limit access to parking lot 436 and the Regent Autopark, located north and east of the Public Safety building, but will not disrupt campus operations, according to Tom Carney, emergency management coordinator for the university.

CU-Boulder Staff Members Get English Language Training In New On-The-Job Program
