Honor Code Policies and Procedures
The purpose of the Honor Code is to create an environment where students can succeed in a fair and honest way. Faculty and staff can:
- Educate students on the value of the Honor Code.
- Help students understand what violations may look like in your class.
- Instill a sense of academic integrity and responsibility among students.
Your Role in Student Behavior
Faculty and staff can make an impact on the student conduct process by joining the appeal board. Faculty and staffÌýalso have a responsibility for maintaining an appropriate learning environment. They can address this by:
- GuidingÌýclassroom discussion.
- Treating students with understanding, dignity and respect.
- EducatingÌýstudents on the consequences of a classroom disruption.
Conflict Resolution
Healthy conflict can result in growth,Ìýlearning and understanding. Conflict resolution is not just for student-to-student relationships. It can also help faculty and staff:
- ImproveÌýcommunication with colleagues.
- Develop trusted relationships with students.
- Educate students on having respectful dialogue with people who have different opinions.
Support our students
Restorative Justice
Participate in Restorative Justice volunteer opportunities. Restorative Justice helps to address the relationship between victims, offendersÌýand the community in a way that repairs the impact, holds the offender accountable and builds community.Ìý
Report incidents such as suspectedÌýhazing to SCCR. HazingÌýrefers to any activity expected of someone joining a group (or to maintain full status in a group) that humiliates, degrades, or risks emotional and/or physical harm, regardless of the person's willingness to participate.
Additional Support
If a student you interact withÌýneeds confidential support, counseling, legal assistance or guidance to navigateÌýresources during a crisis, ¾«Æ·SMÔÚÏßӰƬ has multiple support departments to help.Ìý

There are options for students, faculty and staff, and families to reportÌýconcerns. Don't ignore mental health concerns, racism, harassment, discriminatory actions, unwanted sexual behavior, abuse in a relationship, stalking, other interpersonal violenceÌýand abusive conduct.
